Taking Project Management off Your Hands
Along with the full development of your products, another important task we perform is managing the various people and components that go into making your product successful. Most of these tasks are typically included in the full development of a product, but sometimes you simply need someone to monitor the details to ensure that each stage remains on schedule and within budget.
Author Guidance – Sometimes authors just need a little help getting organized, staying on schedule, and implementing their revision/book plan. Some may need a contact who can help answer the many questions that arise along the way or provide more involved support. Others need help interpreting and understanding all of the new technologies that now go into so many books. Having a point person to contact for guidance significantly benefits authors and makes for a better, more marketable product.
Soliciting Authors for Supplements/Ancillaries – We acquire subject matter experts (SMEs) to author supplements to a main product. We provide them with the necessary materials and guidance, and we monitor their work through their submission of the final product. Supplement authors may be solicited from a variety of sources—you may already keep a list of instructors who have expressed interest in authoring supplements, reviewers may exhibit potential, or we may be able to recommend reliable SMEs we’ve worked with in the past.
Managing Supplements/Ancillaries – Whether an author or co-author is writing their own supplements or they will be authored by a SME, we provide guidance throughout the process to keep them on the right track. With the wide range of print and electronic supplements now offered by publishers, many authors first need assistance familiarizing themselves with the nature and format of the supplements they are creating. We help interpret publishers’ guidelines, standards, and templates to keep the product within your required parameters.
